The Dynamics department of the IC-Migrations invites you to its first thematic workshop « Migration and Big Data » which will take place on Wednesday 7 April 2021, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm CET.
This event will inaugurate a series of three workshops and a training course dedicated to this topic which will take place during the spring and autumn of 2021. The aim of this first workshop is to present the state of research using big data for the study of migration and to offer a critical overview of the potential as well as the challenges posed by this type of data. It should also help to identify the training needs in the methods used in this type of research, for both beginners and more experienced researchers in this field.

- Alina Sîrbu (University of Pisa), Human migration : the big data perspective
- Quentin Lobbé (Institut des Systèmes Complexes), Multi-scale methods for exploring the collective shapes of digital diasporas
- Simone Bertoli (CERDI), « Tell me what you eat, I will tell you who you are ». Migrants” integration and big data on food consumption
Please note that most presentations will be delivered in English but it will be possible to interact with the speakers in French.
