You are about to open doors and a few windows onto worlds into which I was catapulted, far, very far from here: to the heart of the UN’s humanitarian response. These writings are vivid, unfiltered and unvarnished. They were jotted down on a scrap of paper so that the intensity of the experience would remain intact. From the Central African Republic to Venezuela, I wanted to do justice to these places in all that they embody. Guided by my emotions, my doubts and the loves I encountered along the way, I had to capture the turmoil of the emergency.
